The challenge
Back in 2021, Don Papa Rum challenged us to elevate their annual staff and client communications, turning routine updates into something truly memorable. Drawing on our background in television production, we set out to deliver a full-scale broadcast experience at a fraction of the cost, but with unlimited creative ambition.
The result was a studio-based chat show format designed to engage, entertain, and inform. Each programme typically features up to 10 bespoke films and 17 sets of custom graphics, spanning an eclectic mix of formats — from comedy sketches and sit-down interviews to dynamic brand animations and information-rich films. To bring the brand's story to life, we filmed across the globe, including Manila, Negros, and locations throughout the Philippines and Europe.
Our approach
While headlines may proclaim “TV is dead,” we know that the craft and creativity of television production remain incredibly relevant. It's not about the platform; it's about the principles of entertainment and narrative.
With The Don's Late Show, we applied those principles to internal communications. The idea was simple but powerful: what if an internal update could feel like a prime-time broadcast — full of energy, creativity, and unexpected moments?
We built a studio-based chat show format, complete with multiple segments, live-action shoots, animation, comedy, and interviews. The result was an immersive content experience that informed, entertained, and inspired.
The results
The response to The Don's Late Show has been overwhelmingly positive, both internally and externally. In 2023, the project won Best Internal Film at the Campaign & PRWeek Brand Film Awards, a testament to the power of approaching internal comms with creativity and ambition.
In 2025 it went on to win silver for B2B content at The Drum Awards.
